Hypnotherapy can provide long-lasting therapeutic and positive changes in many areas of our everyday lives. Your reason for exploring hypnotherapy will be personal to you.
I offer support for a variety of different issues in my practice of client-focused hypnotherapy, more details on these are noted below.
Stress and anxiety
Many of us experience feelings of stress or anxiety at some points in our lives and this is completely normal. However, when we feel a lack of control or when external pressures are taking its toll, for example, in a busy job, when family issues arise, or if you have financial worries, hypnotherapy can help to reduce negative feelings. In some cases, we may not know what is causing the feelings of stress or anxiety, however, using specialist hypnotherapy techniques, I can help pinpoint hidden causes of these unwanted feelings and over a series of sessions, I will work with you to overcome these issues and re-wire your thought patterns to help you achieve more positive outcomes.
Building confidence or self-esteem
Do you have specific goals or ambitions but don’t feel like you have the confidence to achieve them? Perhaps you struggle with self-esteem and constantly have negative thoughts about yourself? Often these types of feelings have come from past experiences and hypnotherapy can help change these thought-patterns and get you feeling more confident and positive. So whether you are preparing for a driving test, a presentation at work, a first date or an audition, hypnotherapy could help you feel more empowered and ready to take on your next challenge.
Nobody really likes interviews, they can be scary and cause all sorts of anxieties, but have you ever wondered why some people can tackle them with confidence and determination? In reality they may be feeling just as nervous, but with a positive attitude, some preparation and a clear goal they have managed to avoid or overcome any intense feelings of anxiety. If you are looking for a new job, hypnotherapy could help you remain calm and focused as you prepare for your next interview.
Weight loss (or gain)
A person gains weight when they consume more calories over a period of time than their body needs. Two thirds of adults in the UK are classed as overweight and around 22% are considered obese. It’s very important to take steps to tackle obesity because, as well as causing obvious physical changes, it can lead to a number of serious and potentially life-threatening conditions including type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, some types of cancer and stroke. Obesity can also affect your quality of life and lead to psychological problems, such as depression and low self-esteem (https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/obesity/).
Many of us at one point in our lives are unhappy with our weight and struggle to reach our target weight through willpower alone. Hypnotherapy can be a highly effective approach for weight loss if your BMI is greater than 25. If your BMI is over 30 you are advised to seek your GP’s consent before starting hypnotherapy treatment for weight loss. Hypnotherapy is an effective way to tackle negative eating habits in a safe, supportive environment. During your sessions we will identify what type of emotional eater you are and then tackle whatever is holding you back from achieving your weight loss goals.
Fears and phobias
Hypnotherapy is an excellent way to change deep-routed beliefs and feelings about something that causes fear or has manifested into a debilitating phobia. Whatever your fear, I will discuss this with you to see if hypnotherapy is suitable for you. So whether you’re fearful of your neighbours dog, can’t handle heights or terrified of flying, getting in touch will be your first step to taking back control.
Depending on the type and severity of the pain, hypnotherapy can help people discover a new sense of control or management when it comes to their pain. Using specialist techniques, I will teach you how to reduce feelings of pain and associated anxiety and get you on track towards feeling more in control. If you have a serious or long-term medical condition, you should seek your GP or Consultant’s consent before starting hypnotherapy treatment.
Over 3-4 empowering sessions, I work with the expectant mother in their third trimester of pregnancy to help prepare them for labour and childbirth. I will teach you how to reduce your feelings of anxiety and pain, enabling you to feel a sense of empowerment, confidence and control.
Smoking is really bad for our health – we all know this, but stopping is easier said that done for many people. If you are motivated to stop smoking but something is holding you back, this one off session will enable you to kick the habit once and for all!
